Word Power

The Words of Powertude™...

"We are powerful when we belive in the Strength of I AM."

TR Johnson

The Principles of Powertude™ are based on the fact that we control our own thoughts, attitude and the proper use of our strengths.

1. Become A Possibility Phenomena!

2. Appreciate the benefits of being a Continual Learner!

3. Realize that great results start with Anticipation With Action!

4. Grow by Aligning Your Strengths with others!

5. Embrace the energizing Force Of Self!

"In matters of principle, stand like a rock, in matters of taste, swim with the current."

Thomas Jefferson

Ordinary to Extraordinary … A POSSIBILITY PHENOMENA!

A Child's Nature...

Have you ever just sat and watched children play? Their simple world is so fascinating because everything and anything is open for their eager scrutiny.

They are focused on their activities, having fun exploring and learning. Our children are true Possibility Phenomena.

Why is this so? Could it be that children do not recognize the word "NO"; that in their world there are no bars. It is simply a given to investigate and find out all about their environment?

The Child Within...

As adults, can we re-acquaint ourselves with our own Possibility Phenomena? Can we develop a mindset of fascination and awe with life and her many wondrous possibilities?

I believe when we embrace the wonderful possibilities in our lives; when we have hope for a brighter tomorrow and when we actively explore and open our minds, we can become inspired by the many opportunities (aka possibilities) existing around us.

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- Deciding to become a Possibility Phenomena opens doors to unlimited growth...

Open the doors and explore the infinite possibilities that life has to offer by becoming a curiosity seeker!

Embrace the awe of becoming a continual learner!

Learning is almost as important as breathing, we don't think about breathing. Should learning be just as natural and a part of our daily lives?

Opportunities for learning exist and are evident every day in all that we do. Actively positioning learning on the forefront of our agenda is a sure path to personal and professional growth...

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- The best learning is teaching - Never Stop Learning as there are many wonderful consequences of learning!

Learn To Better Your Best... Always!

Anticipatory Success through action is a method to keep our dreams foremost in our vision.

Dreaming; vital to success is only half of the success equation. We must vividly see our dreams; sincerely believe we deserve; and then take the action required to make our dreams a reality.

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- Dreaming without action keeps us dreaming!

Focusing on successful outcomes causes us to act differently. We move forward, confident that we are equipped to deal with the challenges in order to persevere.

Anticipation brings a unity of purpose between dreaming, wishing and hoping; it's the force that motivates us to Go Out and Reach For It!

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- Dreaming and wishing without Purposeful ACTION is never a good strategy!

Visualize it! (You can only be what you visualize yourself being, you can do only what you visualize yourself doing, and you can have only what you visualize yourself having.)

Let's appreciate the power that comes from aligning our strengths with others for leverage and growth.

A word worth focusing on...

T. E. A. M....

Together Each Accomplishes More!

Team is a word with a lot of utility because it allows us to utilize the power from connecting with others to maximize our growth.

Aligning our strengths with others creates an interdependency and synergy for success. Realize that we really do need one another because we all have value and gifts to share!

You may have heard this one many times, but it's worth repeating - It's not always what you know that counts, but who you know!

Our essence is heightened when we realize our own unique potential and use it to motivate ourselves to success!

Being sensitive to oneself creates an attitude for daily self monitoring and evaluation of our own internal standards and values. To embrace self is to gain an understanding of who we are and what we are all about; because when all is said and done, who do we have more than ourselves?

Embrace your awesomeness by recognizing that the Force Of Self is always in a state of awareness, change and growth because the Force of Self is a belief in the power of SELF through the Strength of I AM".

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS --Believe in yourself and know that you are resourceful, determined and strong. You possess a sensitive, loving and kind inner spirit that makes whatever you put your unique touch on special!

Knowing others is wisdom. Knowing self is enlightenment.

I Am Thankful For...

* The partner who hogs the covers every night, because they are not out with someone else;

*The child who is not cleaning his room, but watching TV, because that means he is at home and not on the streets;

*For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed;

*For the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends;

*For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it means I have enough to eat;

*For my shadow that watches me work, because it means I am in the sunshine;

*For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home;

*For all the complaints I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech;

*For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and that I have been blessed with transportation;

*For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm;

*For the lady behind me in church that sings off key, because it means that I can hear;

*For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear;

*For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because I have been working hard:

*For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means that I am alive;

** For too much E-mail, because it means I have friends who are thinking of me.

I Am Thankful For----------, Because--------------------

My Name Is ROSE!

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.

She said, 'Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?'

I laughed and enthusiastically responded; 'Of course you may!' and she gave me a giant squeeze.

'Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?' I asked. She jokingly replied, 'I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids...'

'No seriously,' I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.

'I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!' she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this 'time machine' as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went... She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students.

She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.

Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, 'I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.'

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, ' We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.

There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!

There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.

Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.'

She concluded her speech by courageously singing 'The Rose.' She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.

One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- Remember, growing older is mandatory; growing up is optional. We make a Living by what we get; we make a Life by what we give...

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- Let's decide to view “My Name Is ROSE” as a Powertude™ testimony!

Save Your Self Time Energy & Money...

Now, what is more important to you, Your Time, Your Energy, or Your Money?

At first thought, many of us may think money, but if we don't have the time and energy to use our money wisely; most likely we will lose it.

What about time - it depends on what we do with our time; used wisely, time is one of life's greatest gifts.

How about energy - without it - life can become very dull...

Is one better than the other? Maybe...but why not create efficient and effective systems that work for a better use of your time, energy and money because Systems can help organize our lives!

Good order is the foundation of all good things

WHAT IF Opportunities are NOT missed; but simply passed on to the next prepared person?

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- The WHAT IF scenario has the potential to create conduits to endless possibilities…

As a housing specialist,

WHAT IF, Now really, WHAT IF

--the financial woes of the housing market creates more caring real estate professionals?

--the focus becomes one of empowering housing consumers through education?

--every real estate transaction produced a win scenario for everyone involved?

The WHAT IF consideration may not only keep us in the game, but can keep us at the top of our game now and in the future.

The "WHAT IF" is a rewarding exercise when used as a personal development strategy!

You Know These...

Rules Of The Game

Now, what I really like about "Rules Of The Game"; is that I've heard or read them all before in some form or fashion. I think it would be a safe bet that you've read them also.

The amazing thing about subjects that enlighten us is sometimes what we read will bring about a head nodding, oh, that’s right, I forgot about that moment.

But, do we really forget?

Or, is it that in our busy lives, we momentarily stop thinking about what already exist deep in our inner being? Then when we read an article like “Rules Of The Game” it reminds us of what we already know.

Savor these “Rules Of The Game” and remember this is just a refresher.

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS --“RULES OF THE GAME”

Genuine wisdom is usually conspicuous through modesty and silence.

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

Faith is the element, the chemical which, when mixed with prayer, gives one direct communication with infinite intelligence.

Our lives can be an accident or an adventure. The choice is ours.

Desire, when harnessed, is power. Failure to follow desire, to do what you want to do most, paves the way to mediocrity.

The man who believes “I Can” or “I Can’t” is right!

Don’t wait for your ship to come in, swim out to it.

Women Practicing Extreme self-Care WPEC!

First, let's break this down - Women Practicing Extreme self-Care (WPEC) is an active commitment to self-care from self-exploration and self-development.

Remember, Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS-- Learning to take GOOD care of ourselves is a good thing because it keeps us in the center of our own lives.

Women are nurturers; our growth comes from connecting and building relationships.

Viewing life experiences as portals to the business arena.

Is There A Place For Women's Intuition In Business?

Intuition is the ability to be aware of what's happening around you at the moment. It means listening for the tiniest nuances of a particular situation, knowing how to read body and mind signals, and your own signals, too.

Intuition is one of the most powerful tools women have in the marketplace. To use it, all you have to do is listen -- not just with your ears, but with your gut".

Play Like A Man Win Like A Woman

Gail Evans...

... a great subject found in our music, fragrances and even in the business arena. Check this article from Wikipedia that my instinct and sensitivity makes me feel everyone can learn from - based on my woman's intuition.

A female figure sits blindfolded, as she calmly balances two swords across her shoulders. Behind her is a large body of water and above her is the moon.

The woman's seated position, in combination with the crescent moon, recalls the High Priestess card, and we find a link as well in this card's representation of the characteristic feminine strength of intuition.

The woman's blindfold and the sea show a necessity to rely not on immediate stimuli but on deeper thoughts and feelings, that part of the unconscious mind that we call our higher self.

Her seated position, when conceptually paired with the balanced swords and the blindfold, may also recall the Justice card. Yet here the concept of justice is not one of retribution, but of making decisions that are balanced, moral and that we trust to be harmonious within and without ourselves.

Unlike the "hoodwinked" woman held captive on the Eight of Swords, this card depicts a woman in control. The scene and the discipline of her pose do more to suggest that she has placed the blindfold on herself, as is done in many cultures, ritualistically, to encourage reliance on the other senses (for example the use of blindfolds in martial arts).

The woman is blind in her situation, but she is safe, not only unafraid, but centered. She wields powerful weapons, but they are not held in a position that is threatening to her or anyone else. The moon and the sea reinforce this sense of calm and equanimity.

This is a card of meditation, not of action. The crossed swords point to different possible directions, but for the moment the character is looking inward rather than outward and in the possession of an awesome power that protects her until she finds the direction to apply it.

Notes From "The Star Bucks Experience"

Make It Your Own

Each of us are unique, therefore our business culture will have its own unique personality. We know that two executives with identical floor plans will enhance their office to reveal their individual style and manner of doing business.

Everything Matters

Now, because our customers may not be privy to our processes or methods are not valid reasons to skimp or skip steps.

No one else may know; but we know and that should matter most. Every piece of the puzzle is important to the quality of the finished product.

Surprise & Delight

There is a saying about under-promising so you can (seemingly) over-deliver; it won’t work, care for your customers by finding ways to make their experiences with you and your business not only worthwhile, but more then they expect.

Embrace Resistance

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it - and who wants easy anyway!

When we work hard to realize our dreams; we know we deserve and can appreciate the accolades we receive; especially our own pat on the back.

Leave Your Mark

The last one and a favorite, why, because not only do we want people to know we’ve been there; but that we left things better from being there.

These 5 solid principles are worthy of focused consideration as a way to position ourselves for personal and business growth!

We developed the body of these principles because they are in line with our business acumen as well as the philosophy of The Powertude™ Woman.

Now it's your turn.

Take these same thought provoking titles and make them your own.

Life Is A Battlefield...

12 Rules For Being Human...

Life is a battlefield...

OK recruit, in case you were wondering if there are rules for being human...there are. There are twelve of them in fact.

This is your drill instructor speaking: You want to get out of the battlefield alive, recruit? Then - for your own safety - it is best not to leave home without them!

They will help you get through the jungle better known as your life here on Earth.

The truth is you have been drafted. So, recruits snap to attention and listen up. Because here they are: learn them, love them, and live them...if you want to survive! So pay attention, you lazy boneheads, because I will not be repeating them!

Here are the rules for spiritual beings having a human experience...

...Listen up, recruit: your body is your vehicle for exploring this Earth. You are only issued one for each lifetime. You may love your body or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire time you are here this time around. Your body is operated by your mind and they have their own set of rules.

...Listen up, recruit: your mind is your vehicle for understanding this Earth. You are only issued one for each lifetime. Your mind will try to be your master but it is supposed to be your servant.

So, recruit, master your mind by controlling your thoughts for it is these same thoughts that create your life obstacle course.

...Congratulations, you have now entered the jungle called Earth. Your mission - whether you accept it or not - is to get through Basic Training and advance as far in the ranks as you can.

Each day you are in this boot camp, recruit, you will learn lessons. You may like the lesson or hate them. You may get along with the drill instructor or spend all your time on report. You may think the lessons are stupid, useless, pointless, trivial...but you signed on, So suck it up, recruit!

...That's right, recruit. There is no way that you can avoid the obstacle course. Your commanding officer, your Spirit, has laid booby traps hidden all along the obstacle course. You might know them better as "emotions" (energy in motion) and "illness" (body and mind diseases and disorders).

...You will screw up your training, recruit. Nobody gets it right the first time, or the second time, or the third. Just keep at it.

You will learn as much from your "snafus" as from your successes. And all obstacles will eventually be overcome.

...Our drill instructors here on Earth will show you no mercy. You will repeat your lessons again and again in various forms until you have learned them.

Our drill instructors are tough but they are fair (and they love giving out push ups).

...Face it, recruit. You will move onto tougher and tougher lessons and instructors. Those are the "rules of engagement".

And this is not a drill!

...Our drill instructors have been through the program too. They have heard every excuse, know every dodge, and have memorized every trick in the book.

Right now, they have put you where you need to be: even if it is cleaning latrines!

...What you love or hate about your officers, drill instructors, and fellow recruits is really what you love or hate about yourself.

Here's a tip, recruit: try loving yourself more and you will avoid lots of booby traps!

...We have issued you all the gear you will need for this boot camp. Everyone gets the same gear, so no grousing. What you do with it is totally up to you.

...Your officers and drill instructors are here to help you (really!). They may be from the government but they are here to help you. No "trivial" requests please.

...Well recruit, you signed the paperwork before you came. No use complaining now - you agreed to everything. So suck it up, really hard!

Our Strength...

Comes From Within...

Self-leadership - follow one day, lead the next, and set the pace that is right for you; realize it's your call.

Self-motivation - Realize that external forces are short-term because no one can really motivate us but ourselves. Our own inner determination and will-power is long-term.

Self-vision starts with a written goal; then steps to know which direction you're headed at all times.

Self-discipline is focusing on the task at hand.

Self-talk or pep-talk is being kind and gentle to self.

Self-observation is the ability to SEE and understand for ourselves.

Self-reinforcement - you have value, recognize and appreciate YOU.

Self-fulfillment - we all like reinforcements; but more importantly we need to know we are really OK, just for ourselves.

Self-worth embodies all of the above because our strength comes from within...

Thoughts Influence Power...TIPS -- Now, is it better to say “our strength comes from within” or “our strength resides within”?

How about this?

Belief in our own strength (power) is not a luxury; but with today’s drama, it is an absolute necessity!

Accept yourself. -- Believe in your potential.

Commit yourself to excellence. -- Dare to dream big dreams.

Engage in daily study. -- Find needs and fill them.

Give your service to others. -- Help the less fortunate.

Involve mind, body, and soul. -- Join a team of positive thinkers.

Keep records of your success stories. -- Love all people.

Make plans and implement them. -- Network for success.

Obey good health rules. -- Put enthusiasm into your work.

Quit criticizing, condemning, and complaining. -- Respond to opportunities with zest.

Seek goals to elevate your self-esteem. -- Take time to think.

Understand self and improve. -- Visualize success.

Work on prioritizing activities. -- X-ray yourself to accentuate positive actions.

Yearn for contentment and make it happen. -

- Zap all obstacles and make them opportunities.
